Mikko Rantanen

Mikko Rantanen was born on October 29, 1996, in Nousiainen, Finland. A star for HC TPS in his homeland, he was selected 10th overall by the Colorado Avalanche in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

Rantanen would crack the Avalanche's opening night roster to start the 2015-16 season, but would spend the majority of the year with the club's AHL affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage. In 52 games for the Rampage he scored 24 times and added 36 assists. Rantanen was selected to the AHL All-Star Game and became the second-youngest participant in the event's modern history.

On the international stage Rantanen helped Finland capture gold at the 2016 World Junior Championship and silver at the 2016 World Championship.

In 2016-2017, his rookie NHL season, he led the Avalanche in goals (20 goals, 75 games).
