NHL-MGG No. M07093

This jersey was worn during the first period of the Avalanche-Red Wings outdoor game played on February 27, 2016 at Coors Field in Denver. This one-game alternate style was issued for the NHL's first Stadium Series game hosted in Colorado. Wear on the jersey is light, with a few small material snags in the body and a couple of small light marks in the sleeves. The jersey sports the commemorative series patch on the right shoulder, but unlike the team's other jerseys from this season, does not have the 20th Anniversary patch. The NHL-MGG set patch is sewn into the rear hem and the jersey is accompanied by the MGG NHL LOA.

Mikhail Grigorenko

Mikhail Grigorenko was born on May 16, 1994, in Khabarovsk, Russia, located just 30kms from the Chinese border. A minor hockey star in his homeland, Grigorenko was selected second overall in the 2011 CHL Import Draft by the Quebec Remparts, who moved up in the draft in order to choose him.

Grigorenko did not disappoint in his first season in North America. In 59 games for the Remparts he recorded 40 goals and 45 assists for 85 points. He led all rookie players in the QMJHL in goals and points, and was second for assists.

After one season in Quebec Grigorenko was selected twelfth overall in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft by the Buffalo Sabres, but due to the NHL lockout, he would begin the 2012-13 season with the Remparts. In 32 games, he would record 50 points before play resumed at the NHL level.

When the lockout ended in January, Grigorenko was invited to the Sabres training camp, where he made the roster for the start of the season. He would go on to appear in 25 games for the Sabres during his first NHL campaign, recording a goal and four assists.

On June 26, 2015, at the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, Grigorenko was traded along with Nikita Zadorov and a second round draft pick to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for Ryan O'Reilly and Jamie McGinn.
