Kyle Cumiskey

Kyle Cumiskey was born December 2, 1986 in Abbotsford, British Columbia. Colorado's ninth selection, 22nd overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Cumiskey is a graduate of the WHL's Kelowna Rockets.

Through three seasons, Cumiskey helped anchor a Kelowna blueline that earned back-to-back WHL championships and Memorial Cup Final appearances. The gifted defenceman made his professional hockey debut with the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League, where he led the club in scoring by a defenceman with 33 points. That same season he made his NHL debut with the Avalanche on January 1, 2007.

Selected by Colorado Avalanche round 7 #222 overall 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Missed majority of 2010-11 due to post-concussion syndrome. Traded to Anaheim by Colorado for Jake Newton and a 7th round choice in 2013 Entry Draft, October 8, 2011. Signed as a free agent by MODO (Sweden), July 9, 2012.
