In keeping with the trend of the revamped NHL, this jersey shows somewhat lighter wear, with smaller black marks throughout the body, as well as a couple of larger more definitive marks in a couple of places. The right sleeve shows some small marks in the elbow area, as well as several small caramelized burns, with one worn through the piping seam. The left sleeve also shows some smaller marks and a small board burn, as well as a couple of larger brush-type marks. The front and back body each sport a couple of faint but larger marks, with the best mark being found to the left of the crest.
After starting the season wearing #62, Stastny wore his #26 sweater (this jersey) for the first time on October 21, 2006 at Montreal to score his first NHL goal that night against David Aebischer.
The Meigray tag is sewn in the rear hem, and the jersey is accompanied by the NHL-MGG LOA. This season's serial numbers begin with a "D" to designate MeiGray's fourth year as the marketing agency for Colorado's game jerseys.

Paul Stastny was born December 27, 1985 in Quebec City, Quebec. Colorado's second choice, 44th overall, Paul is the son of Hockey Hall of Famer Peter Stastny.
Before joining the University of Denver Pioneers of the WCHA in 2004, Stastny began his junior hockey career with the River City Lancers of the USHL. As a freshman at the University of Denver, Stastny helped the Pioneers capture their second consecutive national championship and was named the WCHA's Rookie of the Year. The following year his offensive prowess continued to show as the Quebec City native tallied 44 points in 28 games, winning the league scoring title.
After his tenure at the University of Denver, Stastny signed a multi-year contract with the Avalanche in the summer of 2006. Entering 2006-07, a roster spot left open by the absence of Steve Konowalkchuk in Colorado, allowed Stastny join the Avalanche line-up dawning the sweater number 62. However, eight games into the season however, teammate John-Michael Liles opted to change his number to allow Stastny to use the number 26, the same number his father wore while competing with the same franchise. Guided by Captain Joe Sakic in his rookie season, Stastny scored 78 points in 82 games and was a nominee for the Calder Memorial Trophy.
Though stalled by injuries, Stastny's offensive production did not waiver in Colorado. He followed up his out standing rookie campaign by producing over a point a game in his sophomore season and nearing the point a game mark the following year.
In February of 2010, Stastny was part of the US Olympic team that brought home the silver medal in a thrilling overtime final at the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver.
