Overall light wear. This set of alternates is Colorado's last of this style and was worn a total of eleven games. There are some light marks in the sleeves and shoulder areas, as well as two on the left sleeve and shoulder that have been photomatched by MeiGray. The MeiGray tag is sewn in the rear hem, and the jersey is accompanied by the NHL-MGG LOA. This season's serial numbers begin with a "D" to designate MeiGray's fourth year as the marketing agency for Colorado's game jerseys.

A slick playmaking left-winger, Andrew Brunette was given an opportunity to shine as a result of the NHL expansion in the late 1990s. After excelling with the Nashville Predators and Atlanta Thrashers, he signed with the Minnesota Wild prior to the 2001-02 season.
Born in Sudbury, Ontario, Brunette starred in the NOHA with Rayside-Balfour before joining the OHL's Owen Sound Platers. He developed into an offensive force and was chosen 174th overall by the Washington Capitals in 1993 after leading the OHL with 62 goals and 162 points.
Brunette spent most of his first four pro seasons in the minors but played fairly well when recalled by the Caps. In 1995-96, he was one of the top draws in the AHL when he scored 125 points for the Portland Pirates.
The young forward played his first full NHL season in 1998-99 after he was taken by the Nashville Predators in the Expansion Draft. He scored 31 points and was a solid defensive player for the respectable club before finding himself traded to the expansion Atlanta Thrashers. Brunette was given more offensive responsibilities and responded with 50 points. The next year, he recorded 44 assists on the improved club and was its most effective worker down low and along the boards. Brunette opted to join his third expansion club in four years in the off-season and has been counted on to provide offense on a defence oriented team and has not disapointed in the team's first two seasons leading them to their first playoff birth in 2003.
In 2003-04, Brunette played in his 500th career game and surpassed the 300 point plateau before being acquired by the Colorado Avalanche in the summer of 2005. Through three seasons in Colorado, Brunette managed to appear in every game and he established new career highs in goals (27) assists (56) and points (83) in 2006-07. His final season in Colorado was in 2007-08 when after an early playoff exit, Brunette signed in the off-season with his former club in Minnesota.
Brunette continued to be a consistent scorer in his second go around with the Wild. In 2008-09 he notched 50 points and followed that up with campaigns of 61 and 46 points respectively in the following two seasons.
In the summer of 2011, Brunette was once again an unrestricted free agent. This time he inked a one-year deal with the Chicago Blackhawks.
